PADI Nitrox Enriched Air Diver: FROM 5,500 THB
Ever been on a dive and wished you had more dive time? Well we would all be lying if we said “No.” If so then the PADI Nitrox Enriched Air Diver could just be the answer for you!
Nitrox, or Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx), was introduced into mainstream Recreational Diving over 20 years ago. Nitrox (EANx) is simply a gas mixture which is "mixed" so that there is less Nitrogen (N2) and more Oxygen (O2) than “Normal Air.” This means if you go for a dive at a given depth for a given time you will absorb less N2 than you would breathing air. As a result of this you will have more Dive Time / Longer No Decompression Time than you would diving on air.
It’s as simple and easy as that ...

PADI Nitrox Enriched Air Diver: PADI’s most popular Specialty Diver Course Worldwide
Known as the “Devils Gas” at the beginning of 1990s Enriched Air Nitrox (commonly known as Nitrox / EANx) is now regarded as “normal.” You can find Nitrox available almost everywhere in the world.
What it is all about?
The PADI Nitrox or Enriched Air Nitrox Course teaches you how to safely dive on Nitrox. Quite simply all EANx is, is a slightly different blend of Air so to speak. Air is 21% O2 and 79% N2. Enriched Air Nitrox is any gas mixture with an O2% greater than 21% (air). As we are absorbing less N2 at a given depth and time than we would be at same depth and time breathing Air we are logically absorbing less N2 and in turn have more Dive Time (No Decompression Time). The downside is that as we are now breathing a higher percentage of O2 we have some considerations which we don’t breathing 21% O2. At the end of the day this primarily boil down to diving slightly shallower than the same dive on Air. This affects dives deeper than 20-25m depending on what EANx you are breathing.
PADI Nitrox Enriched Air Diver Theory and Practical Application
First of all before the start of the PADI Nitrox Course you will receive your PADI EANx manual (digital or paper.) You need to read it and complete the Quick Quizzes and Two Knowledge Reviews. There is also the PADI Nitrox DVD to watch. As usual you will then review this with your instructor. We will show you how the Enriched Air Nitrox Gas is actually “Blended” (mixed). And how you” analyze” an Enriched Air cylinder to check the gas content. You will need to learn what to expect in the way of EANx cylinder markings / stickers / information. Also how then set your Dive Computer depending on which gas mixture you are breathing. This is usually EANx 32 or EANx 36. Finally you will also learn how to plan your dives along with a short Final Exam.
Then you two have choices:
A) You go out with your Instructor and complete 2 – 3 Scuba Dives using PADI Nitrox tanks and Dive Computers. This is great as you really get to see first hand just how much extra Dive Time you get. Also just how simple and how much fun it is.
B) You have the option to run through some simulation Enriched Air Nitrox dives in a classroom. With this option you would analyse several tanks. Then you complete all the dive planning just as you would if you were doing a real Nitrox dive. The only difference is that once you have worked out your dive plan and set your dive computer, you will not actually do the dives.
The choice is yours ...
Now you are a Certified PADI Nitrox Enriched Air Nitrox Diver
Congratulations !!
You are now going to have much more dive time to play with. This is especially true at the 15-25m depths! You can now enjoy your favorite scuba diving activities at these depths for much longer than if you were diving on air.
Wreck Diving and Underwater Photography are two activities which divers love to combine with EANx Diving. As such the PADI Wreck Diving Specialty and PADI Digital Underwater Photography Courses are both very popular. These can either be combined with your PADI EANx Diver Course or taken afterwards. Diving on EANx gives you way more dive time than air. Perfect for PADI Specialty Dive course dives.
Another awesome package is combining the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course with the PADI Nitrox Diver course. This is a very popular diving package. Because if you take the PADI Nitrox Enriched Air Adventure Dive during your PADI Advanced Open Water course, then you would only need to do ONE more EANx dive for certification! This could be your Wreck Adventure Dive or PADI Underwater Naturalist Adventure Dive. So you would complete the Advanced Open Water Course with two certifications.
The possibilities are endless ...
